Things that Marc loves

tiny little Keri Hillemeyer NeedhamKeri A bigger version of Keri Hillemeyer Needham looking pretty.

Keri and I met at an ATM, I blurted out some ridiculously cheesy pick-up line, she laughed. We fell in love. I've loved her ever since and can't imagine not having her in my life.

There is nobody else like her, nobody else that can make me smile like she does, nobody else that I'd want to share so much time with, nobody else that completes me.

She is a delicate butterfly that has landed on the back of my hand, a wonder to behold. I hope she never flies away.

tiny little Auden Mark NeedhamAuden A bigger version of Auden Mark Needham looking cute.

Auden - our first child - fills my life with emotions that I didn't realize grown men were capable of. His smallest smile sends me into convulsions of glee, his slightest sadness destroys my soul.

He is more than I ever dreamed he would be and I am truly excited to shape the man he will become.

a little heart with a Union Jack on top of it.My Family The Needhams of times past.

This is my family.

I love them.

They live in England and I miss them terribly. I don't see them nearly enough.

Maybe at some point we'll live on the same continent again - for now visits and phone calls will have to do.

a pixelly representation of a lovely catKaia a blurry picture of Kaia, who was lovely.

Kaia was the best cat ever. Then she was taken from me. I'll never understand why. (click her face to read about her a bit...)
For better pictures of her see the photos section.

a pixelly representation of a funny cat.MarmiteMarmite is precocious!

Marmite is the newest addition to the family, rescued from certain death at the pound in the tail end of 2001.

Marmite is the cat equivalent of a dog. He is full of a seemingly limitless energy. He plays fetch, he jumps up door frames (around 6' is his record), he sprints laps around the apartment sometimes tossing in a neat "wall of death" style thing.

He's got a soft side too though, a gentle stroke behind his ear will send him into convulsions of delight at your feet.

Frank is kind of Keri's cat, one of Keri's room-mates abandoned him as a kitten when Keri's and my relationship was still a baby. He grew up with Kaia as his Mother figure and was as messed up as we were when she died.

He's a really sweet, cuddly cat. He sleeps with us at night (on Keri's pillow, wrapped around her head) and has an obsessive-compulsive disorder that makes him suck Keri's earlobes. That sounds nasty but is actually really cute.

like my Colnago, only smallerMy Bikeme and my Colnago

This is my lovely bike: a Colnago Super from the mid-eighties.

It is a part of me.

We go up and down the bike path that runs along the lakeshore, blowing past guys on Ti Litespeeds, making guys in full-body lycra suits eat our dust. We kick ass.

I'm riding through the Winter this year for the first time. The Colnago has been put into storage and I've got my Winter bike out: an aluminum (no rust!) frame Trek 1500. It is red and sexy. I'm scared of ice and cold but even more scared of cramming myself onto the train every day with the rest of the human cattle.
